Companies and Foundations datasets comprise non-human entities that have the capacity to give. A Companies and Foundations record has all the same options as a constituent record, with some exceptions to the Profile tab. Like a constituent record, custom fields can be created that are specific to the Companies and Foundations dataset. Likewise, custom tabs can be created that are specific to the Companies and Foundations dataset.  

Linking to a Constituent

A Companies and Foundations record can be linked to a constituent through the Job section of the Profile tab on a constituent record. Then, it is possible to use the query tool to determine the constituents who work for, or who have worked for, a Company/Foundation record. This link can be very helpful for identifying matching gift opportunities.
