Article Summary

Early Access Features configuration keys are occasionally used when new features are made available within Slate. Rather than being automatically enabled within all Production environments, database managers have the ability to enable these new features at their discretion. To activate an Early Access Feature, check the box next to the feature that you would like to enable and click Save. Once enabled, wait roughly 15 minutes for these changes to be reflected within your database.

Active Scheduler

Active Scheduler allows you to utilize a portal to create on-the-fly timeslots for specific appointments based on a schedule that you define.

This schedule is composed of three basic parts:

  1. General availability for a given timeframe (including overrides for specific days)

  2. Existing external appointments defined by an iCal feed shared as free or busy- Documentation for iCal setup here

  3. Instances of timeslots created either manually or on the fly through the scheduling tool in a portal

Default to Configurable Joins Query Base

When creating a new Query, the Type will automatically default to Configurable Joins.

Deliver Designer/Components

Deliver Designer empowers email marketers to design highly configurable templates from which users can easily deliver email communications in harmony with institutional design standards.

PayPal/Venmo

PayPal and Venmo can be enabled as acceptable payment methods in the standard Payment widget used in forms. These types of payment methods can be configured to be the only option in a Payment widget, or they can be configured to work along with Slate Payments.

To accept these types of payments, the institution must have an existing PayPal account, or one must be established during the setup process. The PayPal/Venmo capability can be used with or without using the Slate Payments method.

Research

Slate's Research tab allows for the storing and management of data from both external and internal sources. This data can be source-specific from a provider (such as rating or score) or it can be more generally applicable information that may be provided from multiple sources (such as a prospect's estimated capacity). Custom research sources can also be created.

Research-scoped materials may be established and associated with individual research items as well. These materials can be uploaded to Slate directly and added to new/existing records, allowing for immediate access to any necessary primary source backup.

In all cases, research data is entirely accessible for querying and reporting.

Retention Policy Scheduler

The execution of retention policies in the Retention Policy Editor can be automated by scheduling the policies to run overnight.

Suitcase

Suitcase lets you share multiple items between different Slate databases at the same time. With this functionality, Suitcase allows you to compile and then transfer all of the functional elements of an entire process in one complete package.

Enabling this Early Access Feature will replace the Briefcase functionality, and therefore the Copy to Briefcase option will no longer be available. However, you will still be able to import objects to your database utilizing the Briefcase Import tool.
