Slate portals can be embedded in your institution's web pages by inserting HTML code generated by Slate. Before following this guide, make sure that you have a basic familiarity with portals, as well as a basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Click Database on the Slate navigation bar.
- In the Portals section, click Portals.
- Select the name of the portal to embed. The portal summary page appears.
- On the upper right portion of portal summary the page, click Embed Portal. An Embed Portal popup appears.

- From the selection list, select Allow embedding. A text field appears that contains the appropriate HTML code that will be used to embed the portal on the web page.

- Select this code, copy it (Ctrl+C) and paste it (Ctrl+V) into the HTML code of the page where it should appear. Be sure to consider the page's existing layout and format.
- Click Save.

Note
Portals cannot be embedded within forms or within other portals. Embed portals only on non-Slate-hosted pages, such as your institutional website.
