Users are granted access to records in datasets through the Dataset Lookup and Dataset Update permissions:
Permission | Description |
|---|---|
Dataset Lookup | Grants read access to dataset record data. |
Dataset Update | Grants write access to dataset record data. |
In order for a user to search for a dataset record, the user must be granted the read permission of the associated query base. This lets the user search the dataset using record lookup. It also includes records from the dataset in the search results using the global search bar.
Grant Users Access to Dataset Records
To grant a user access to dataset records, edit the user account and grant the required permissions:
Click Database in the top navigation bar and select User Permissions.
Select a user.
Click Edit User.
Navigate to the Permissions tab.
Select the Dataset Lookup and/or Dataset Update permission.
