Custom Views for Profile Tabs

Custom views may be used to replace default columns on the following Profile tabs in Slate:

  • Schools
  • Scores
  • Jobs
  • Interests
  • Sports
  • Gifts
  • Pledges
  • Planned Giving
  • Query
Customize a View

You can create personal views that To create a personal view with custom export columns:

  1. Select the Profile tab from any Person record.
  2. Select the appropriate tab from the right-hand menu.
  3. Select the Customize View icon at the bottom of the table.
  4. Select Copy Preset.
  5. Enter a name for the new Custom View. Select OK and select your new custom view from the list.
  6. Under Exports, select Export to add one or more custom view columns. Double-click on the export for further refinement (for example, to control the format mask for dates).
  7. Select Continue to add your export.
  8. Select Save Preset.
  9. Select Update.

  Why can't my anyone else see my views?

Personal views are user-specific. Other Slate users in your institution will not be able to see personal views you created.

Filter a View

Your view might contain more data than you need to look at. You can add filters to narrow the number of export rows to what's relevant to you. To filter a view: 

  1. Select the Profile tab from any Person record.
  2. Select the appropriate tab from the right-hand menu.
  3. Select the Customize View icon at the bottom of the table.
  4. Select Filter to add one or more direct or extended filters to the view. 
    • For example, an alumni record's Giving tab might display 40 years of their giving history with your institution. In this case, it might be prudent to filter for only those gifts made in the past five years. See below:

  5. Save your filter(s).
  6. Select Update. 

  Tip

Configurable Joins may be used to display information from related data tables in custom columns.

Modify Default Views

To modify a default view:

  1. Select the Profile tab from any Person record.
  2. Select the appropriate tab from the right-hand menu.
  3. Select the Customize View icon at the bottom of the table.
  4. Under Exports, select Export to add one or more custom view columns. Double-click the export for further refinement (for example, to control the format mask for dates).
  5. Select Save.
  6. Next to the view name, select Save Preset. 
  7. Select Update.
