Slate is able to keep track of mailings sent to records in a database through the use of interactions on a person's record.

Often, a query will be run to export a list of names to Excel before being sent on to an external print house. At the time the query is run, an additional output of the query could leverage the Batch Management functionality in order to apply an interaction - such as "Print Mailing > Magazine" - to all of the records that are a part of the query.
