The status and read permission of standard tabs can be modified within Database > Tabs. By default, all standard tabs have a status of "active," and appear on the person record.

To hide a standard tab, select the appropriate standard tab record and change Status to "inactive."

To set a read permission for a standard tab, select the desired permission from the Read Permission list.
