GETTING TO KNOW SLATE.ORG'S AMBASSADORS

David Weisbord
Director of College Counseling, Winchester Thurston School

How did you get started in college counseling?
After working on the admission side for 14 years (including co-leading the Slate implementation for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Columbia University, I made the switch to school counseling as Associate Director of College Counseling at George School in Newtown, PA. Since 2018, I have served as the Director of College Counseling in Pittsburgh, PA where we use Slate.org as much as possible for data and decision tracking and presented on Slate.org at two Slate Innovation Summits.

What does a perfect Saturday look like to you?
Staying at home and having a relaxing day with my wife Michelle, daughter Ella and Goldendoodle puppy Ramona.

What’s a fun fact not many of us know about you?
I am a volunteer EMT and also a Notary Public

Fill in the blank: If you really knew me, you'd know that…

I am a Baltimore Ravens fan living in Pittsburgh, PA - fortunately the school color at Winchester Thurston School is also purple.
